Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has disclosed that the government is actively seeking strategic partnerships to establish a national airline.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister, given the current economic challenges facing the country, the government is unable to independently set up a national carrier.<\/p>\n

Instead, efforts are being directed at identifying credible partners who can support the vision of establishing a sustainable and competitive airline for Ghana.<\/p>\n

Speaking to staff of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Joseph Bukari Nikpe shared that a shortlist of potential partners will soon be revealed as part of efforts to bring the national airline to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking for a partnership to establish a national airline. When it comes to partnership, it will take time. We have to know who they are \u2014 to partner with you to bring in a national carrier that will fly for a very long time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ghana has been without a national airline since the collapse of Ghana Airways in 2004 and the subsequent failure of Ghana International Airlines in 2010.<\/p>\n
