{"id":12213,"date":"2025-08-04T16:21:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T16:21:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=12213"},"modified":"2025-08-04T16:21:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T16:21:05","slug":"nia-settles-20-staff-operational-allowance-arrears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=12213","title":{"rendered":"NIA settles 20% staff operational allowance arrears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"122\" data-end=\"287\">The National Identification Authority (NIA) has confirmed the payment of the 20% Operational Support Allowance owed to its staff for the period January to July 2025.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"289\" data-end=\"550\">This development comes in the wake of a nationwide strike by NIA staff, triggered by the Ministry of Finance\u2019s failure to provide a clear commitment or timeline for the payment of the allowance \u2014 the only benefit staff receive in addition to their basic salary.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"719\">Speaking at a media briefing, the Head of Corporate Affairs at the NIA, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, announced that all outstanding arrears have now been cleared.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"719\">\u201cI\u2019m happy to announce that the 20% Staff Operational Allowance is been paid and the arrears from January to July has been cleared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"721\" data-end=\"830\">He expressed gratitude to staff and stakeholders for their patience and support during the industrial action.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"1041\">\u201cThe NIA was established to manage a credible, secure, and universal identity system.
