Ten public institutions in Ghana have together paid over GHS3 million in penalties for violating the Right to Information (RTI) Act, according to enforcement data from the RTI Commission.<\/p>\n

The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) tops the list with a record GHS1,365,000 fine \u2014 the highest ever paid by a single institution.<\/p>\n

It is followed by the Ghana Police Service, which has paid GHS450,357.15, and the Ministry of Education, which paid GHS260,000 for repeated non-compliance.<\/p>\n

These fines were uncovered in a report titled \u201cSaga Over RTI: Millions Paid as Penalty,\u201d published by Corruption Watch, a transparency initiative by CDD-Ghana.<\/p>\n
