The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine, has announced that the government is set to revoke the controversial Legislative Instrument (LI) 2462, which has been the subject of widespread public and political debate.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement on illegal mining convened by President John Dramani Mahama in Accra on Friday, October 3, Dr. Ayine disclosed that a new instrument \u2014 LI 2505 \u2014 has been prepared by his office and is scheduled to be laid before Parliament on October 14, when the House resumes sitting.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have prepared an instrument that is LI 2505 in my office, and that will be laid in Parliament on the 14th of October,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The Attorney General confirmed that this decision was taken in agreement with the sector Minister, and the move aims to formally revoke LI 2462.<\/p>\n
