Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has dismissed claims by the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, that government efforts led to a reduction in DStv subscription prices, insisting the changes are merely part of the company\u2019s marketing promotion.<\/p>\n
Speaking on\u00a0The Big Issue<\/em>\u00a0on Channel One TV, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, Mr. Mohammed said there has been no structural change in DStv\u2019s pricing, describing the Minister\u2019s claim of success as \u201cmisleading and baseless.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSam George\u2019s effort yielded no results. What they are doing, I tell you, is a promotion for them to get people to come and patronise the DStv package of DStv, which they have been doing consistently,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mr. Mohammed further explained that the current subscription offers are part of DStv\u2019s regular marketing strategy and not a permanent price cut, adding that the campaign is temporary and subject to review after three months.<\/p>\n \u201cThe price of the package on my DStv portal is still the same amount; nothing has changed. It remains a promotion, and after three months, they will decide whether to continue the promotion or to stop it.
