{"id":13467,"date":"2025-10-04T20:02:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T20:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=13467"},"modified":"2025-10-04T20:02:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T20:02:44","slug":"ndc-must-focus-on-governance-not-flagbearer-for-2028-hamza-suhuyini","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=13467","title":{"rendered":"NDC must focus on governance, not flagbearer for 2028 \u2013 Hamza Suhuyini"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"260\">A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team,\u00a0<strong data-start=\"72\" data-end=\"90\">Hamza Suhuyini<\/strong>, says the party\u2019s immediate focus must be on delivering on its promises to Ghanaians, not early competition over who will lead the NDC into the 2028 general elections.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"571\">Speaking on\u00a0<em data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"299\">Citi FM\u2019s The Big Issue<\/em>\u00a0on Saturday, October 4, amid growing debate over succession following a new Global InfoAnalytics poll that places\u00a0<strong data-start=\"414\" data-end=\"432\">Haruna Iddrisu<\/strong>\u00a0as the frontrunner to succeed President\u00a0<strong data-start=\"473\" data-end=\"496\">John Dramani Mahama<\/strong>, Suhuyini said the NDC must remain committed to governance and delivery.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"918\">\n<p data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"803\">\u201cFor us in the NDC, I think that the objective now is to stay true to the social contract that we signed with the good people of this country, based on which they gave us an overwhelming mandate on 7th December 2024,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"918\">\u201cThat should be the focus of any operative of the NDC, and of course His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"1070\">He added that President Mahama\u2019s performance in his current term would be decisive for both his legacy and the party\u2019s long-term political fortunes.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1164\">\n<p data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1164\">\u201cHis performance will go a long way to impact on our political future,\u201d Suhuyini stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1514\">The latest Global InfoAnalytics poll ranks\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1243\">Tamale South MP Haruna Iddrisu<\/strong>\u00a0as the leading contender to lead the NDC in 2028, with 30% support, followed by\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1371\">NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia<\/strong>\u00a0at 24% and\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1414\">Finance Minister Ato Forson<\/strong>\u00a0at 18%.
