The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) in the Ashanti Region has announced major technical challenges at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant following a blast that occurred at the facility\u2019s high-lift section.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, management explained that the incident damaged one of the three pumps currently in operation, resulting in reduced water flow and pressure to parts of Kumasi and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

GWL\u2019s engineers are reportedly working around the clock to repair the affected pump and restore normal distribution levels.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that until full restoration is achieved, the technical team is rationing and managing the available water volume to improve supply and maintain stable pressure across the network.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the importance of a reliable water supply and are committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

GWL Management apologised to consumers for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience as work continues to address the fault.<\/p>\n
