Former Member of Parliament for Tema West and former Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has expressed her willingness to serve as a running mate to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, should the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its stakeholders deem her capable.<\/p>\n
Her statement comes amid speculation that she is being considered for the vice-presidential slot after she backed Kennedy Agyapong in the party\u2019s 2026 presidential primary.<\/p>\n
Naa Torshie Addo had previously supported former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP\u2019s last flagbearership contest.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News after casting her ballot, the former MP dismissed speculation that she had been in talks to become Kennedy Agyapong\u2019s running mate if he wins.<\/p>\n
She, however, made it clear that she would be ready to serve if considered competent and suitable for the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cPossible, I don\u2019t know and we haven\u2019t discussed that but if I am, what do you think? It\u2019s also good to have women included. If my people think I am capable, it is not just going to be about me, but my constituency, the NPP and other influential people.<\/p>\n
