Former Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has served notice to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is united and prepared for the 2028 general elections.<\/p>\n
His comments followed the decisive victory of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP\u2019s presidential primary, where he secured the party\u2019s flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections with 56.48 per cent of the total votes cast.<\/p>\n
His closest contender, Kennedy Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, placed second with 46,554 votes, representing 23.76 per cent.<\/p>\n
Speaking to journalists at the party\u2019s national headquarters on Saturday night, January 31, 2026, Dr. Amin Adam said the results have strengthened party unity and set the stage for an intensive national campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe overwhelming support shown by the delegates is a testament to the party\u2019s readiness and willingness to support Dr. Bawumia\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n
