According to a statement signed by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong and issued on February 9, the thanksgiving service is aimed at expressing the party’s gratitude to God for what it described as a peaceful, credible and historic internal electoral process.

The event will be held under the theme “Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,” drawn from Psalm 50:14.

The presidential primary, which has been widely praised by party stakeholders, resulted in the emphatic election of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2028 general election.
