Some had argued that prices could have been kept lower if not for the strict enforcement of the NPA\u2019s price floor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Oil price review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another major player in the oil industry, Star Oil, has also announced price increases for its products.<\/p>\n<p>Petrol has been increased from GH\u00a212.19 to GH\u00a213.49 per litre. It has also increased the price of Diesel from GH\u00a214.25 to GH\u00a217.97<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Price Floor Set by NPA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NPA set new minimum price floors for petroleum products for the April 1, 2026, window in a circular sent to OMCs on March 30, 2026.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Petrol:<\/strong>\u00a0GH\u00a211.57 \u2192 GH\u00a213.30 per litre (+GH\u00a21.73)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diesel:<\/strong>\u00a0GH\u00a214.35 \u2192 GH\u00a217.10 per litre (+GH\u00a22.75 over the last two weeks)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG):<\/strong>\u00a0GH\u00a210.67 \u2192 GH\u00a210.71 per kilogram<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The authority directed all OMCs and LPG Marketing Companies (LPGMCs) to comply with these floors.<\/p>\n<p>The prices exclude premiums charged by International Oil Trading Companies (IOTCs), operating margins of Bulk Import, Distribution and Export Companies (BIDECs), and the margins of OMCs and LPGMCs, which are independently determined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Implications for Consumers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From April 1, 2026, no OMC or LPGMC will be permitted to sell below the approved price floors. Companies currently selling below these levels must adjust their pump prices immediately. This means:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Petrol cannot be sold below GH\u00a213.30 per litre<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Diesel cannot be sold below GH\u00a217.10 per litre<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOIL\u2019s early adjustment signals a move to comply with the NPA\u2019s new directives ahead of the official April 1 effective date.
