{"id":16930,"date":"2026-05-28T07:22:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T07:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=16930"},"modified":"2026-05-28T07:22:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T07:22:45","slug":"power-restored-at-tanyigbe-shs-by-ecg-after-week-long-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=16930","title":{"rendered":"Power restored at Tanyigbe SHS by ECG after week-long outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Electricity has finally been restored to Tanyigbe Senior High School in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) following nearly a week of power outage caused by a rainstorm.<\/p>\n<p>The outage occurred on May 22 after heavy rains and strong winds caused a tree to fall on an electricity pole supplying power to the school, plunging the entire campus into darkness and disrupting academic activities.<\/p>\n<p>The situation affected teaching and learning, particularly for final-year students preparing for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).<\/p>\n<p>Students had resorted to studying at night with torchlights and other improvised lighting sources, while the school\u2019s computer laboratory was temporarily shut down.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10033066527\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3236-1024x461.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Following reports by Myjoyonline highlighting the school&#8217;s plight, ECG&#8217;s Volta regional branch moved in to address the challenge and restore power supply to the campus.<\/p>\n<p>School authorities have expressed appreciation to ECG and all stakeholders who contributed to resolving the problem.<\/p>\n<p>According to management, normal teaching and learning activities have now resumed smoothly, bringing relief to both students and staff.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10033066528\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3237-1024x461.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>They noted that the restoration of electricity has also enabled candidates writing the ongoing WASSCE to adequately prepare for their examinations without further disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities at the school commended the swift response after public attention was drawn to the issue and appealed for continued support to improve the school&#8217;s infrastructure.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10033066529\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-3238-1024x461.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Tanyigbe SHS serves several farming communities within the Ho Municipality, including Klave, Shia, Avee, Nyive, Tokokoe, Atikpui and the Akoefe enclave.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Electricity has finally been restored to Tanyigbe Senior High School in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) following nearly a week of power outage caused by a rainstorm.
