Maame Tiwa Addo Danquah, the Executive Director of Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), is rallying citizens to actively participate in the collective effort to combat corruption. In light of Ghana’s recent 43rd position in the corruption perception index, Danquah emphasizes that relying solely on politicians and public officials is insufficient.

Addressing the public, Danquah underscores the pivotal role of unified action in the fight against corruption, urging individuals to proactively volunteer information to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption initiatives.

“The fight against corruption should involve everyone, not just those in positions of authority. It must be a collective endeavor. Each person must ensure they play their role in combating corruption,” stated Danquah.

She further highlights the significance of reporting any observed instances of corruption, emphasizing that silence could worsen the issue.

“When you witness something, whether in the realm of physical security or corruption, it is imperative to speak up. Failing to do so could lead to deterioration, and that is a cause for concern,” she added.
