{"id":3993,"date":"2024-03-13T20:18:40","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T20:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=3993"},"modified":"2024-03-13T20:18:46","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T20:18:46","slug":"my-father-doesnt-want-to-do-politics-wants-to-focus-on-his-businesses-sam-jonahs-daughter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=3993","title":{"rendered":"My father doesn\u2019t want to do politics; wants to focus on his businesses \u2013 Sam Jonah\u2019s daughter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tamara Jonah, daughter of business mogul, Sir Sam Jonah, has said that she does not think her dad will like to venture into politics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is recalled that the name of Sir Sam Jonah, current chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, came up as a front-runner for the nomination to stand as John Dramani Mahama\u2019s running mate in the 2024 presidential election prior to the announcement of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Tamara Jonah says her dad, who is the executive chairman of Jonah Capital, an equity fund based in Johannesburg, South Africa, would like to focus on being a businessman rather than go into politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharing her experience in life and also explaining why she didn\u2019t choose mining as a career despite her father\u2019s mining prowess, while speaking in an interview with TV3\u2019s Paa Kwesi Asare, Tamara, a creative person said \u201cOne of the duties of my dad as a person is allowing people to be who they are, my dad had always looked at me as a creative being and he has given me that platform to be able to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere was never a situation where he said \u2018you are best at this but go and do that\u2019, that never happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-c781fb16f9e8c29de03bd4c542960e91 ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t5NkvFTrRAk?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen I decided what I was going to do, I said it and it was a 100 percent backing from him.&nbsp; For any parents, I think it is important that you are able to see what your child can actually thrive in and push the support. I would probably been a lawyer or something else, who knows but I am thriving where I am, and If I hadn\u2019t got the support I wouldn\u2019t be where I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked whether she would like to venture into politics, she answered in the negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said, \u201cI told you what I want to do, that is hospitality and education,&nbsp; I have no place in politics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked again whether her father also has an ambition of going into politics, she said \u201cI don\u2019t think he wants to do politics.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tamara Jonah, daughter of business mogul, Sir Sam Jonah, has said that she does not think her dad will like to venture into politics.
