Therefore, they advised the protest organizers to adjust the timing accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This comes after Yvonne Nelson informed the Ghana Police Service of her intention to protest against the government following erratic power supply in recent months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement shared on May 9, she indicated the intention to hold the vigil on May 25, starting at 8:30 am and concluding at 12 midnight at the Revolution Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yvonne Nelson is seeking the support of the general public for the imminent protest against &#8216;dumsor\u2019 and hopes for a similar turnout as the 2015 dumsor protest she organised along with other celebrities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Accra Regional Police Command at the meeting reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order while facilitating peaceful protests within the framework of the Ghana Police Service\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protest organizers are yet to respond to the Police Command\u2019s request for the change in venue and timing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Accra Regional Police Command has urged the organisers of the #DumsorMustStop protest to consider relocating the protest venue.
