{"id":5804,"date":"2024-05-18T11:45:53","date_gmt":"2024-05-18T11:45:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=5804"},"modified":"2024-05-18T11:45:56","modified_gmt":"2024-05-18T11:45:56","slug":"kissi-agyebeng-likely-to-be-asked-to-step-aside-as-special-prosecutor-domelevo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=5804","title":{"rendered":"Kissi Agyebeng likely to be asked to step aside as Special Prosecutor \u2013 Domelevo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Former Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo has said that he has picked up information that the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng would be asked to step aside for investigations to be conducted into the allegations made against him in the petition seeking his removal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy next week they may be asking him to step aside until the investigation is finished, somebody whispered into my ears that is what is going to be done,\u201d he said on the  May 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Domelevo further stated that he suspects that the petition that is seeking to remove Kissi Agyebeng as Special Prosecutor is a fight against him for his efforts to tackle corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOnce you fight corruption, corruption will fight you back,\u201d he intimated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added \u201cmy only surprise is that this petition is coming from Martin Amidu. If I were in his position, I would not do anything to remove his successor from the post.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-f32e8b4ba1d8f031b2eea9bcc2c367ed ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wzwaKoqjUes?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday May 17 the Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo wrote to Kissi Agyebeng to provide his comments on the petition that has been filed by his predecessor Martin Amidu for his removal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief Justice\u2019s letter says that the comments of Mr. Kissi Agyebeng is to help establish a prima facie case or otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a letter to Mr. Agyebeng dated Thursday, May 16, the Chief Justice requested his comments to help her ascertain if a prima facie case has been established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is to forward to you a copy of the petition dated 30th April 2024 sent to the Office of the President which was forwarded to the Office of the Honourable Lady Chief Justice on 6th May 2024.
