{"id":6537,"date":"2024-06-17T10:19:36","date_gmt":"2024-06-17T10:19:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=6537"},"modified":"2024-06-17T10:19:37","modified_gmt":"2024-06-17T10:19:37","slug":"ive-not-resigned-from-npp-and-im-not-going-independent-ken-agyapong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=6537","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019ve not resigned from NPP and I\u2019m not going independent \u2013 Ken Agyapong"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has dismissed reports that he will go independent in the December 7 elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has also dispelled rumours that he has resigned from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing friends and loved ones including the National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, during his 64th birthday celebration on Sunday, June 16, the firebrand lawmaker said he wants the party to have a united front going into the December 7 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat I want all the party faithfuls to know is that I have not resigned from the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am not going independent. I\u2019m still an NPP member.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stressed that whatever happened during the primaries are behind him, charging his supporters to rally behind the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ken Agyapong later said several persons have cajoled him to go independent but he doesn\u2019t see such a move as a \u201cwise thing\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf you know me very well, I am not selfish and people have come to me several times that \u2018Go independent, Go independent\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think that is not a wise thing to do. I\u2019m also appealing to the Vice President\u2019s supporters, I know they are intimidating my supporters.
