{"id":6588,"date":"2024-06-20T09:25:39","date_gmt":"2024-06-20T09:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=6588"},"modified":"2024-06-20T09:25:41","modified_gmt":"2024-06-20T09:25:41","slug":"i-will-gift-him-a-house-hotel-if-ablakwa-proves-that-rock-city-is-making-losses-bryan-acheampong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=6588","title":{"rendered":"I Will gift him a house, hotel if Ablakwa proves that Rock City is making losses \u2013 Bryan Acheampong"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has vowed to gift MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa a house and a hotel if the MP can substantiate claims that Rock City Hotel is incurring losses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acheampong\u2019s challenge comes in response to Ablakwa\u2019s allegations regarding the financial health of Rock City Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The allegations made by Ablakwa suggest that documents intercepted from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) indicate that Rock City Hotel Limited, a company owned by the Agric Minister and MP for Abetifi, is running at a loss and hence unfit to buy the lucrative and profit-making SSNIT hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf he indeed has documents that prove that Rock City Hotel filed its 2023 taxes and we are making losses, let him bring it,\u201d Acheampong declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf it\u2019s true, I have a house at Trassaco, it\u2019s new and unused. I bought it in 2014, and I will gift it to him, and if he wants to also gift it to an NGO, on his orders, I\u2019ll make that happen, all Ghanaians be my witness.\u201d he said to Nana Yaa Brefo, host of Yen Nsempa on Onua FM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the house, Acheampong offered another significant incentive that if Ablakwa \u201cis able to prove that Rock City\u2019s 2023 account recorded losses, in fact, in his constituency, North Tongu, there is a hotel owned by Rock City\u2014Akosombo Continental Hotel. If he\u2019s able to prove it, that hotel is for Rock City, and I will give it to him as well. Rock City has about 1,000 rooms now, and we are building about 3,000 more and We pay our taxes,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rock City Hotel, according to Acheampong, is poised to become the largest hotel in Africa and no effort to derail that ambition will be fruitful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are taking the brand international, and he cannot bring it down. What Rock City Hotel is seeking to do, he cannot stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acheampong further expressed frustration over Ablakwa\u2019s allegations, describing them as baseless and politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe opens his eyes to say wild things. All his allegations against me are lies.
