{"id":7079,"date":"2024-07-15T09:17:03","date_gmt":"2024-07-15T09:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7079"},"modified":"2024-07-15T09:17:07","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T09:17:07","slug":"government-will-continue-to-invest-heavily-in-the-educational-sector-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7079","title":{"rendered":"Government will continue to invest heavily in the educational sector \u2013 Bawumia."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has cut sod for works on the first tertiary-level government-owned training institution built solely for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) instructors in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When completed, the Namburugu STEM College of Education, located at Karaga in the Northern Region, will train persons desirous of teaching STEM in Senior High and other schools across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the ceremony on Sunday, 14th July, 2024 Vice President Bawumia emphasized that Government\u2019s commitment to transforming the education sector to respond to the changing dynamics of the 21st century remains as strong as ever, and the construction of the tertiary STEM training school is further testament of this resolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis government continues to invest heavily in the Education sector. This commitment is evident in many ways, including the provision of Free Senior High School Free TVET education; building new, modern ICT-based schools; construction of specialized STEM High Schools, one of which is not too far from here, in Kpasinkpe, and recently, the supply of Tablets to students in SHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-5aead77ded77e7fac65d8f5198940244 ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wV4rgvOoAMw?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday\u2019s ceremony to signal the construction of a tertiary institution to train instructors for our schools is further evidence of our determination to prepare our children for the Fourth Industrial Revolution,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deputy Minister of Education, Hon Rev Ntim Fordjour urged the contractors to deliver a quality project in the shortest possible time, disclosing that the College will have accomodation for male and female students, an ultramodern 800-seater Auditorium, an ICT Centre,&nbsp;&nbsp;living quarters for the Principal, Vice Principal and other tutors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis historic institution will be a world class training facility, providing skills and knowledge for those who would shape the minds of our children,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2017, Government has seen to the construction of a number of STEM schools (JHS and SHS) across the country, including the Awaso STEM School in the Western Region, Abomosu STEM School in the Eastern Region, Bosomtwe Girls STEM School and Bosomtwe STEM School, both in the Ashanti Region, the Accra High School (Engineering only) in the Greater Accra Region and the Kpasemkpe STEM School in the North East Region.
