{"id":7102,"date":"2024-07-16T08:42:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T08:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7102"},"modified":"2024-07-16T08:42:47","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T08:42:47","slug":"ill-lead-a-massive-no-debate-no-presidency-demo-if-mahama-doesnt-accept-the-challenge-to-debate-bawumia-anyidoho","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7102","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019ll lead a massive \u201cno debate, no presidency\u201d demo if Mahama doesn\u2019t accept the challenge to debate Bawumia \u2013 Anyidoho."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has dared the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama to accept the challenge thrown by his counterpart in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for a presidential debate ahead of the 2024 general elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Koku says he will organise a \u2018no debate, no presidency\u2019 demonstration if Mr Mahama does not accept the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor now, it is John Mahama\u2019s aides\/cult worshipers who are saying he would not participate in any debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am waiting for JM himself to be bold and say to the hearing of Ghanaians that he would not participate in a debate &amp; I will lead a massive \u2018No Debate, No Presidency\u2019 demonstration,\u201d he wrote on his X platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His comments come at a time when the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had dared former President and flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, for a live presidential debate to explain their respective visions and policies to the people of Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing thousands of his supporters last night in Bunkpurugu, North East Region, Dr. Bawumia said he was eagerly waiting for a debate with Mahama, but he was less optimistic that would happen because Mahama is \u201crunning away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am looking forward to a debate with John Mahama on the economy, on the country on the governance,\u201d Dr. Bawumia said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-5aead77ded77e7fac65d8f5198940244 ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wV4rgvOoAMw?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut I am afraid that he is running away from a debate. His people say he doesn\u2019t want to debate. I have never heard an opposition leader who doesn\u2019t want to debate. But he knows I will expose the emptiness of his policies,\u201d the NPP flagbearer added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Bawumia added that former President Mahama and his team are unable to explain their 24-hour economy to Ghanaians, adding that the former President is avoiding a debate because he will be exposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe says he has a 24-hour economy which he cannot explain. It is as empty as an empty barrel. He cannot explain it and none of his people can explain it. They say they will be exporting lions and elephants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen we meet mano a mano, we can debate, and the country will see where our policies lie and that is where we should go. We should give the country an opportunity to listen to us.
