{"id":7483,"date":"2024-08-01T09:19:32","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T09:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7483"},"modified":"2024-08-01T09:19:37","modified_gmt":"2024-08-01T09:19:37","slug":"2024-elections-85-is-our-target-in-ashanti-region-chairman-wontumi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7483","title":{"rendered":"2024 Elections: 85% is our target in Ashanti Region \u2013 Chairman Wontumi."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ashanti Regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has reiterated the party\u2019s resolute in hitting an 85% share of total votes in the Ashanti region, after the December polls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairman Wontumi believes the event of 2008 cannot be repeated in 2024 because both elections have different dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn 2008 when the NPP had finished its eight years term and looking to break the 8, there were a lot of despondency but, now the narrative is different because the government is performing and meeting the expectations of the people, this gives us confidence that breaking the 8 is possible this time around,\u201d He told host of GhanAkoma on Akoma FM, Sir John.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To Wontumi, the opposition National Democratic Congress cannot be an option for the people of the Ashanti Region \u201cMahama has nothing good to offer this region, during his time he introduced Capitation under the NHIS and this created a lot of problems for the people, we still remember; he neglected the people of the Ashanti region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-48d1bc8004dcef8459a578d56cadbccd ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qv7IRnJXU1Q?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Boasiako believes ongoing massive road projects in the Ashanti region will give the ruling party a massive advantage over the opposition \u201clook at the massive road projects this government is embarking,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ruling NPP is yet to hit a 77% mark in its stronghold since the inception of the party in 1992.
