{"id":7584,"date":"2024-08-06T05:23:23","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T05:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7584"},"modified":"2024-08-06T05:23:26","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T05:23:26","slug":"virginia-man-charged-with-threatening-to-kill-vice-president-kamala-harris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fishfmonline.com\/?p=7584","title":{"rendered":"Virginia man charged with threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Virginia man&nbsp;has been&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/25032871-carillo-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">charged&nbsp;with making&nbsp;death&nbsp;threats<\/a>&nbsp;against Vice President Kamala Harris&nbsp;and&nbsp;appeared in&nbsp;federal&nbsp;court&nbsp;on&nbsp;Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to court records, Frank Lucio Carillo made several threats against Harris, President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, several Arizona officials,&nbsp;and others on the right-wing social media platform Gettr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response to a subpoena, the FBI found&nbsp;4,359 posts from Carillo \u201ctargeting various public officials,\u201d including Harris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In several posts, Carillo allegedly threatened to cut out Harris\u2019 eyes and described various ways he wanted to kill the&nbsp;vice&nbsp;president, court records say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI will cut your eyes out,\u201d&nbsp;Carillo allegedly wrote in one expletive-laden rant where he called Harris a \u201cb*tch\u201d and said he hoped she would \u201csuffer a slow agonizing death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A number of similar posts are cited in court records, with graphic and detailed threats against the vice president as well as others, including one&nbsp;Islamophobic&nbsp;post in 2023 when he wrote that&nbsp;people should&nbsp;\u201cgo out with your guns and kill all Muslims.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When FBI agents first arrived at Carillo\u2019s house over the social media posts, Carillo asked if they were there \u201cabout the online stuff,\u201d and said, \u201cI posted it.\u201d Carrillo, appearing to talk to himself,&nbsp;also&nbsp;said,&nbsp;\u201cI guess I\u2019m gonna need a lawyer,\u201d according to court documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Federal agents retrieved two firearms from his home, including a pistol he bought in 2023 and a rifle purchased&nbsp;this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A hearing to determine whether Carillo will&nbsp;remain&nbsp;behind bars while awaiting a resolution in his case has been set for Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CNN is reaching out to an attorney for Carillo for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Source: CNN<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Virginia man&nbsp;has been&nbsp;charged&nbsp;with making&nbsp;death&nbsp;threats&nbsp;against Vice President Kamala Harris&nbsp;and&nbsp;appeared in&nbsp;federal&nbsp;court&nbsp;on&nbsp;Monday.
