We are innovative and inclusive and we invite you all to join us at the launch of our people\u2019s manifesto! Ghana deserves better leadership and more join the winning team,\u201d she wrote on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NDC officially announced that it would launch its 2024 manifesto on Saturday, August 24 at the \u201cJophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium of the University of Education, Winneba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will have in attendance, the Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama who is the Special Guest of the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This comes at a time when the NPP launched theirs in Takoradi on Sunday, August 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Koku Anyidoho in a post on his X platform said \u201cSo, John Mahama and his cultic followers have sat down and allowed Bawumia to set agenda again with his manifesto? How on earth does any serious opposition party sit idle and allow a ruling government to put out its manifesto first? John Mahama is not serious.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the launch of the NPP manifesto, the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia re-stated his passionate commitment to turn Ghana into a digital hub of Africa, by training one million Ghanaians in IT skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Vice President first revealed this policy earlier this year in February, when he delivered his major policy address to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Bawumia repeated the policy, which has been enshrined in the Manifesto, adding that, as President, it is part of his broader vision to build a digital Ghana that will improve many sectors and also offer jobs to the youth .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-a4e0518d7ab7900e140274231cb0a537 ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:400px; height:400px; max-height:400px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Mc89oVi0ZyA?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLadies and Gentlemen, I want to build a Ghana where we leverage technology, data and systems for inclusive economic growth,\u201d Dr. Bawumia said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want to see Ghana build the digital talent we require for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This will mean providing digital and software skills to hundreds of thousands of youth. This, along with other policies, will create jobs for the youth, including school dropouts, \u2018 he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn collaboration with the private sector, we will train at least 1,000,000 youth in IT skills, including software developers to provide job opportunities worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want us to apply digital technology, STEM, robotics and artificial intelligence for the transformation of agriculture, healthcare, education, manufacturing, fintech and public service delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of his Digital Ghana process, Dr. Bawumia stated another goal to eliminate the digital divide by achieving close to 100% internet penetration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have already made very significant progress in this direction by increasing internet penetration from 34% in 2016 to some 70% in 2023, by more than double. The task in the next four years is to move from 72% to over 90% as exists in the advanced countries. It is possible,\u201d he stated confidently.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under his Presidency, Dr. Bawumia also assured \u201can enhanced focus\u201d on TVET , OCT and STEM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLadies and Gentlemen, to prepare our children for the fourth industrial revolution workplace, I will enhance the positioning of the education system towards STEM, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and vocational skills to cope with the demands of the fourth Industrial Revolution and job creation.
