In a powerful sermon, Reverend Emmanuel Addae, the senior pastor of the Assemblies of God Ghana, Maranatha Assembly Offinso Central, emphasized the importance of following the will of God rather than acting on personal sentiment.

He urged all Christians to demonstrate what pleases God and align themselves with His desires, rather than their own.

Rev. Addae expressed concern over the tendency of some Christians to take matters into their own hands, seeking revenge instead of trusting God to handle their battles.

He questioned the practice of praying for harm or destruction to befall those with whom one disagrees.

Drawing biblical support from 2 Samuel 1:14-15, Rev. Addae highlighted the example of David and Saul. Despite Saul’s attempts to kill David, when David had the opportunity to retaliate, he chose to spare Saul’s life. David recognized Saul as the chosen and anointed king of Israel, and instead of fighting against him, he entrusted the battle to God.

Rev. Addae concluded his sermon by urging believers to let go of personal grievances and trust in God’s plan. He emphasized that our unity as Christians and our pursuit of God’s will should always take precedence over personal vindication.

In summary, Rev. Emmanuel Addae calls on Christians to prioritize the will of God over personal sentiment and to trust in His power and wisdom to handle their battles. He encourages believers to follow the example of David, who chose to spare Saul’s life and leave the outcome in the hands of God.
