The National Democratic Congress had reinstated its Central Regional Chairman who was put on suspension for a month over anti-party conduct.

The party said although Prof Richard Asiedu has be reinstated, his conduct afterwards will be monitored to ensure that he does not in any way jeopardize the chances of the Party in the region ahead of the Dec 7 elections.

“Your suspension as Central Regional Chairman of the Party for a period of one month has elapsed. Pursuant to Article 48(9)(f) of the Party’s constitution, you are hereby reinstated to your position as regional Chairman of the party in the Central region with immediate effect,” the statement signed by Chairman of the party, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey noted.

Prof. Asiedu’s suspension follows an outcome of a meeting held on July 2, 2024 on the withdrawal of the Assin Central parliamentary candidate, Shaibu Migyimah over alleged amorous relationship with the wife of the constituency General Secretary, Sadique Broni.
