Joint Presidential Transition Team to meet today

The Joint Presidential Transition Team will be meeting today Wednesday, December 11, 2024, as part of the transition process.

President Akufo-Addo had announced the date in a statement that released the list of the government’s team.

“We agreed on an early inauguration of a joint transitional team as early as Wednesday the 11th of December,” President-elect John Dramani Mahama announced in his victory speech shortly after being declared the winner of the Presidential Election with 56.55% of the valid votes cast.

Mr. Mahama revealed that he had received a congratulatory call from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The two leaders discussed matters related to the joint transitional team.

“I conveyed my sincerest regards to him and expressed my readiness for us to work together to ensure a smooth transition in the best interest of the Ghanaian people,” the president-elect stated.

The following persons constitute the Government side of the Transition Team:

  1. Head of the Presidential Staff appointed under the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463) [Chief of
    Staff] – Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare
  2. The Attorney-General – Godfred Yeboah Dame
  3. Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs – Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
  4. Minister responsible for Finance – Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam
  5. Minister responsible for the Interior – Hon. Henry Quartey
  6. Minister responsible for Defence – Hon. Dominic Nitiwul
  7. Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs – Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey
  8. Minister responsible for Local Government – Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah
  9. Minister responsible for National Security –  Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah
  10. The Head of Civil Service – Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh
  11. The Head of the Local Government Service – Dr. Nana Ato Arthur
  12. The Secretary to the Cabinet – Ambassador Mercy Debrah-Karikari
  13. The National Security Coordinator – Mr. Edward Asomani”
