Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno and Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh have received DNA reports from South Africa, confirming the identities of the victims of the military helicopter crash.

Samples from the remains of the eight victims who died in the military helicopter crash on Wednesday, 6 August, were sent to South Africa on August 7 for DNA analysis to help identify each body for a befitting burial. The forensic results for the Environment Minister, Dr. Murtala Mohammed and Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Lumina Muniru, were received electronically with their identities confirmed on Saturday, August 9, making way for their burial according to Islamic tradition on Sunday, 10th August.
