Fans of dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, stormed the offices of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to demand his release from custody.

The artist was granted bail under strict conditions after being held over issues related to tax compliance. EOCO officials confirmed that his release is subject to meeting all legal requirements.

Shatta Wale’s media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, confirmed in a video update that the musician’s legal team and management are working to secure his release. He assured fans that all efforts are underway to meet the bail terms.

“Before proceeding with the case, EOCO has set a bail of ten million Ghana cedis (GH₵10 million) with two sureties. I assure you, the dancehall king’s management and legal team are working tirelessly to resolve this,” Sammy Flex stated.

He also clarified that the case has been widely misreported. According to him, EOCO’s investigation relates specifically to taxes on Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini and his business operations, not other speculated issues circulating on social media.

Shatta Wale was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as part of EOCO’s ongoing probe into his yellow Lamborghini and related tax compliance matters.
