Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after fulfilling revised bail conditions.

His lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, confirmed to Newsmen that the initial bail amount of GH₵10 million was reduced to GH₵5 million, requiring two sureties. “As part of the bail conditions, he is to report to EOCO three times a week,” Mr. Boyuo added.

This release follows days of legal proceedings tied to allegations concerning the acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus—specifically, alleged failure to prove legitimate ownership of the vehicle.

An official statement issued by EOCO on Thursday, August 21, 2025, noted that Shatta Wale could not furnish credible proof of ownership or lawful acquisition of the vehicle.

He claimed to have bought it “from the Street,” allegedly dealing through an individual named “ZAK” via WhatsApp, whom he could neither properly identify nor contact again.

EOCO also highlighted that Shatta Wale failed to present any formal documents—such as a sales receipt or transfer papers. The only document he possessed was a customs declaration form bearing the name Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a prison sentence.

In parallel developments, EOCO had granted bail under tough conditions, and the artiste’s media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah (Sammy Flex), confirmed in a video update that the legal team had been actively working to meet those requirements in hopes of securing his release by Thursday, August 21, 2025.

As announcements were made, Shatta Wale’s fans had gathered outside EOCO’s offices, demanding his release. Sammy Flex assured followers that “all efforts are underway to meet the bail terms,” signaling strong management coordination.
