The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the start of registration for additional delegates ahead of its upcoming presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, the party said the registration follows a decision made at the National Annual Delegates Conference held on July 19, 2025, in Accra.
The new categories of eligible voters added to the party’s voter register — also known as the “album” — include former regional and constituency executives, members of the Council of Elders and Patrons, past Members of Parliament, former ministers and MMDCEs, TESCON leaders, and current and former external branch executives.
All qualified individuals are expected to register their names with their respective regional, constituency, or external branch offices. An online registration platform will also be made available, particularly for members of the diaspora.
The deadline for registration is Friday, September 19, 2025.
The party stated that only those who meet the outlined criteria will be allowed to register and vote. The Presidential Elections Committee will carry out a full verification and validation process to ensure the credibility of the voter list.
The NPP says the process is part of its ongoing commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusiveness in the party’s internal democratic processes.
