New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to make grassroots participation a central part of his presidency by holding annual constituency meetings across the country to listen to the concerns of party members and citizens.

Dr. Bawumia made the commitment on the first day of his tour of the Bono Region, where he visited the Banda, Tain, and Wenchi constituencies as part of his nationwide engagement with NPP delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

Addressing delegates, Dr. Bawumia said his goal as President would be to bring governance closer to the people through direct and consistent engagement with the grassroots.

“If I am elected President, I will make time to regularly engage with the party’s grassroots,” he said. “Just as former President Kufuor did, I will dedicate at least one day each year to meet directly with members at the constituency level through town-hall-style meetings.”

He explained that such engagements would provide an opportunity for ordinary members of the party and citizens to voice their challenges and expectations directly to the President.

“These interactions will allow me to listen to your concerns firsthand and work on them. This is how we will stay connected, and I will ensure that as President, your voices are heard and your issues are addressed.”

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that inclusive governance is key to developing the country, assuring delegates.
