President John Dramani Mahama has held a meeting with the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General, and the Auditor-General to discuss measures aimed at strengthening the enforcement of findings contained in the Auditor-General’s Report.
The meeting, held on Monday, October 20, 2025, focused on ensuring accountability and promoting the recovery of public funds identified in audit infractions.
A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to designate special courts to handle cases arising from the Auditor-General’s findings.
These courts will be responsible for enforcing surcharges, disallowances, and prosecuting related criminal offences.
According to a statement issued by the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance accountability, deter the misuse of public resources, and ensure the prompt recovery of monies owed to the state.
