Five people, including a radio presenter, have been shot in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region after gunmen stormed their residence on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Three of the victims, including a five-year-old child, died instantly, while two others, including a radio presenter, were admitted to the hospital. The radio presenter has been identified as George Bukari, the manager of Binduri-based Maxx Empire Radio and TV.

The incident, according to the locals, is related to the Bawku conflict, which has claimed several lives since November 2021.

In another development, a mentally challenged individual was also reportedly shot dead by military officers at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku.
