The government has confirmed a terrorist attack on a truck transporting Ghanaian tomato traders in northern Burkina Faso.

According to information from Burkina Faso, the traders were travelling through the town of Titao on Saturday, February 14, 2026, when their vehicle came under attack.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible casualties and injuries, are yet to be officially confirmed.

In response, Ghana’s Embassy in Burkina Faso has begun engaging local authorities to obtain detailed information on the incident.

In a statement issued on Sunday, February 15, the Embassy said it is coordinating efforts to visit the attack site to ascertain the identities and condition of any Ghanaians involved.

Officials have assured that steps are being taken to establish the facts and provide the necessary support to affected individuals and their families.
