A palpable sense of excitement and intellectual energy fills the air today as the much-anticipated FISH MMOFRA MMERE Quiz (Primary Edition) officially commences. The competition, designed to challenge and celebrate the brilliance of young minds, promises to be a thrilling showcase of academic excellence from basic schools across the region.
The opening ceremony, held at the Offinso Kokote Methodist Church, saw a vibrant gathering of eager young students, their dedicated teachers, and proud parents. The atmosphere was electric with the buzz of friendly rivalry and anticipation as participating schools were formally welcomed into the contest.
In his opening address, the Programme Coordinator for FISH MMOFRA MMERE, Gyasi Patrick, emphasized the quiz’s core mission. “This initiative is about more than just winning a trophy,” the coordinator stated. “The FISH MMOFRA MMERE Quiz is designed to ignite a passion for learning, build confidence in our young learners, and encourage them to think critically from an early age. We believe that investing in the foundational education of our children is investing in the future leadership of our nation.”
The Primary Edition quiz will test students’ knowledge across a range of subjects, including Mathematics, English Language, Science, Computing and Creative Arts – a key tenet of the “FISH MMOFRA MMERE”.
Today’s preliminary rounds will see schools battling it out in a series of fast-paced oral and written quizzes. The participating schools are:

For many of the young contestants, the day marks their first experience in a large-scale academic competition.
The competition is structured in a knockout format, leading from the preliminary stages through to the quarter-finals and semi-finals. The grand finale, which will determine the ultimate champion of the FISH MMOFRA MMERE Quiz (Primary Edition), is scheduled to hold in two weeks’ time.
The FISH MMOFRA MMERE journey had officially begun, promising to uncover some of the brightest young stars in the nation’s primary school system.
