President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to serve Ghanaians with humility, integrity and dedication, while calling on citizens to play their part in advancing the nation’s development.
He made the declaration while addressing the public during Ghana’s Ghana Independence Day celebrations marking the country’s 69th anniversary under the theme “Building Prosperity, Inspiring Hope” on Friday, March 6.
“The journey has not always been smooth. We have stumbled and often felt disappointed in ourselves, but we have never given up,” President Mahama said, highlighting what he described as the enduring resilience of the Ghanaian spirit.
“As your president, I pledge to serve with integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of our people. But Ghana’s progress cannot rely solely on my leadership; it will depend on every citizen doing their part,” he added.
President Mahama acknowledged the challenges the country has faced over the years but reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the welfare of citizens while urging Ghanaians from all walks of life to contribute to national development.
“Wherever you are, whatever you do, do your part with excellence. Do it for Ghana, for Africa, and for the generations yet unborn,” he said.
