The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has proposed a presidential debate between Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama.

Chairman Wontumi believes that such a debate would offer clarity on the capabilities of both candidates in the run-up to the December polls.

Owning several TV networks, including Wontumi TV in Kumasi, Movement TV in Accra, and Western Diamond in Takoradi, Chairman Wontumi expressed eagerness for a debate where Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama can articulate their achievements and aspirations.

In emphasising the need for substantive discussions, Chairman Wontumi stated that Ghanaians have moved beyond mere rhetorics and propaganda.

He believes that a debate on his networks between the two prominent political figures would provide an opportunity for Ghanaians to make informed decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of the candidates’ positions and plans.

Chairman made this call while speaking on his own Wontumi Radio show hosted by Isaac Oteng.
