Mahama’ll win Dec 7 elections with 57.3% – Omane Boamah

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the National Democratic Congress’ Director of Elections and IT, has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama will secure a victory over Vice President and New Patriotic Party flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with 57.3 percent of the valid votes in the upcoming December 7 election. 

Dr. Boamah made this assertion in a Facebook post on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in response to a recent survey conducted by Kumasi Technical University (KTU) predicting a different outcome.

The KTU survey, led by Prof. Smart Sarpong, an Associate Professor of Statistics, projected a win for Dr. Bawumia. 

According to the survey, 38.9 percent of Ghanaians support the NPP flagbearer over the NDC presidential candidate, ex-President John Dramani Mahama. 

Prof. Sarpong, who is also the Director of Research and Innovation at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a consultant in Research Design and Data Management, conducted the survey ahead of the December elections.
