The Government of Ghana has expanded the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy to include 60 private schools—a landmark shift since the program’s launch under the Akufo-Addo administration.
This strategic inclusion aims to ease congestion in public SHSs while ensuring more students have access to quality education, whether enrolled in public or private institutions.
The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) has welcomed the move, describing it as a vital step toward making quality education more inclusive and accessible.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to verify the list of approved private SHSs through official channels, including the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service (GES), or the GNACOPS website.
