The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference has called on Ghanaians to turn to Christ for solace and unite in healing, following the tragic military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom that claimed eight lives, including five top government officials.
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 7, the Conference described the incident as a devastating blow to the nation. It urged citizens to support one another in honour of the fallen.
“May our nation find solace in Christ in the face of unimaginable loss. To those who have lost loved ones, we pray that through God’s power, you may find comfort in the memories and love that remain,” the statement read.
The Bishops emphasised the need for unity in grief, saying. May we come together to heal, support one another and honour the lives that this tragedy has touched.”
Initial investigations show the Z-9 military helicopter went off radar while en route to Obuasi on official duty.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced a state funeral to honour the victims on Friday, August 15, at the Black Star Square.
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief from religious bodies, political leaders, and civil society groups nationwide.
