Ashanti culture came alive as mourners gathered to observe the one-week passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away last week.

The grounds were filled with drumming, dancing, and the firing of musketry, reflecting the rich traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom.

There is a heavy security presence, with major roads leading to the Manhyia Palace closed to traffic.

Other dignitaries, including political leaders, religious figures, and members of the diplomatic corps, are also expected to attend.

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will lead a government delegation to the Manhyia Palace for the observance.
