The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, says that the flagbearer of the NPP, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will make inroads in the Volta Region in the 2024 general elections.

To him, the Volta Region is evolving hence the chances of Dr Bawumia to garner more votes in the region considered the stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a post on his X platform regarding the campaign tour of Dr Bawumia of the region on Thursday May 30, Mr Ahiagbah said “I learned that the NDC had issued a statement saying Bawumia’s visit to the Volta Region was unproductive. Well, this is to show them how their cookie is crumbling in the Volta Region.

“I learned that the NDC had issued a statement saying Bawumia’s visit to the Volta Region was unproductive. Well, this is to show them how their cookie is crumbling in the Volta Region. Volta is evolving, and Bawumia’s sweep will happen to them like a movie. It’s possible!. It’s possible!”

Prior to Dr Bawumia’s tour of the region, Mr Ahiagbah had urged the people of the Volta Region to vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia after stating that the Vice President has several plans to develop the region including establishing a free zones in the border town of Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency.

A Free Zone enclave in the Volta Region, he said, is a game-changer.

He wrote on his X platform that in relation to the tour of the Vola Region by Dr Bawumia today Thursday May 30 “Volta must support Bawumia and reject Mahama. Bawumia’s leadership will boost economic activity, create more jobs, and increase regional export production.

“Bawumia plans to establish Special Economic Zones or free zones in border towns, including Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency.

“A Free Zone enclave in the Volta Region is a game-changer, but NDC-Mahama has no such plans for the Volta Region.

Dr Bawumia also wrote on Facebook after his tour that “I rounded off my Volta Regional tour today, by engaging various youth groups, in what was an exhilarating encounter.

“Earlier, I was warmly received by enthusiastic traders and drivers at the Ho Central Market and lorry park respectively, as I engaged them. Thank you, Volta Region for the energy and the warm reception. It Is Possible!”
