National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party members to remain calm and united as President John Dramani Mahama’s administration gradually settles and creates more opportunities for appointments.
Speaking during a meeting with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former party officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah assured supporters that their patience would soon be rewarded.
He was in the region as part of a three-day “Thank You Tour” following the NDC’s election victory.
Addressing concerns from members who have yet to be appointed to government roles, the NDC Chairman appealed for understanding, stressing that the leadership is working to ensure all loyal members get the opportunity to serve.
“If we do what we want with the positions we have gotten, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen,” he said.
He added:
“What NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flagbearer aspirants are criticising each other and are enumerating the sins and faults of each other.”
The NDC Chairman emphasised the need for unity and discipline within the party to sustain its momentum and avoid the kind of infighting he says is tearing the NPP apart.
