A Ghanaian citizen, Daniel Marfo Ofori‑Atta, has petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to probe Supreme Court Judge Yonny Kulendi and Richard Jakpa for allegedly conspiring to influence legal proceedings in the “Republic v. Cassiel Ato Forson & 2 Others” trial.

In a letter dated September 29, 2025, addressed to the Director‑General of CID, Ofori‑Atta claims that Jakpa, who faces charges in the case, used his familial connection to Justice Kulendi to try to derail the prosecution.

The petitioner says Kulendi intervened personally with former Attorney‑General Godfred Dame to weaken or abort Jakpa’s prosecution.

Ofori‑Atta cites trial records showing Jakpa’s communications with the Attorney‑General through Kulendi, including 68 WhatsApp messages sent by Jakpa and noted attempts by Kulendi to host meetings at his residence to influence prosecutorial decisions.

The petitioner argues the alleged actions amount to criminal interference with justice under Ghana’s Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and urged a thorough investigation and prosecution as required by law.

Attached to the petition are trial transcripts from June 6, 18, 20, and 27, 2024, and the WhatsApp messages between Jakpa and the former Attorney‑General.

Ofori‑Atta says he is ready to provide further documents and assistance to the CID in its investigation.
