Flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have balloted for their positions on the ballot paper ahead of the party’s much-anticipated presidential primary scheduled for January 31, 2026.

The exercise, which took place at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Friday, October 10, 2025, saw former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, draw the number one spot, placing him at the top of the ballot.

Dr Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Agriculture, picked the second slot, while former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, widely considered a frontrunner in the race, selected the third position.

Former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyepong, drew the fourth and fifth positions respectively

The ballot was supervised by the NPP’s National Elections Committee in line with internal electoral guidelines outlined on July 29.
