A fuel tanker has overturned at Teacher Mante in the Eastern Region, drawing scores of residents who defied danger to siphon the leaking fuel.

Eyewitnesses say the tanker, which was carrying petroleum products, skidded off the road and landed on its side on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Shortly after the incident, several residents rushed to the scene with containers to collect the leaking fuel despite the high risk of explosion.

Local authorities have described the situation as extremely dangerous and have called for immediate intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service and the police to secure the area.

There are no reports of casualties following the accident.
