New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Hopeful, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, has unveiled six core pillars that he says will define his administration if he secures the party’s flagbearer position on January 31 and goes on to win the 2028 general election.

He made the announcement on Tuesday, January 20, while addressing party faithful and the nation at Silicon House in Accra.

The six pillars he outlined are as follows.

1. Land Reforms, Youth Empowerment, and Modernised Agriculture

Ing. Agyepong plans to streamline land title registration, cut bureaucratic red tape, and link youth-led environmental stewardship with land reclamation. He also envisions a modern, climate-smart agriculture sector where farming is treated as a dignified profession.

2. Urban Regeneration, Rural Renewal, and Environmental Protection

He promises to enforce spatial planning regulations, transform chaotic urban sprawls into organised settlements, and equip rural areas with essential amenities, aiming to beautify and modernise the country.

3. Fiscal Discipline and Value for Money

He pledges that his administration will prioritise completing existing projects before starting new ones, curb wasteful spending, and institutionalise a maintenance culture across government projects and agencies.

4. Restoring Meritocracy and Professionalism in Public Service

He pledged that promotions and appointments will be based on performance. He also proposes capping the cabinet at 19 ministers with an equal number of deputies, 16 regional ministers, limiting Supreme Court judges to 11, and abolishing the mandatory retirement age of 70 for judges, allowing them to serve until physically unable.

5. National Trade Licence Regime
He hinted at plans to bring the informal sector into the formal economy through support and incentives rather than punitive taxes.

6. Empowering Creative Arts and Reigniting Sports
According to him, creative professionals will benefit from strict copyright enforcement, while sports development will prioritise soccer, athletics, and boxing, without neglecting other disciplines. He believes this will restore the excitement and pride Ghanaians once felt for the arts and sports.

Agyepong describes the six pillars as his “New Dawn Agenda,” born from experience and aimed at reversing policies that, in his words, have “demoralised citizens” over the years.
