Retired Ghanaian Bishop Blasts Prophets Over False Election Prophecies

Retired Methodist Church Ghana Bishop, right bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwe Ayensu, has slammed Ghanaian prophets making false prophecies about election outcomes. He described them as deceivers with no theological background, citing Prophet Bernard Elbernald Eshun’s prediction that NPP’s Kennedy Ohene Agyepong would win the presidential election as an example. Ayensu alleged some prophets consult deities for their “powers” and challenged Eshun to a showdown, saying “Elbernard is not from God, I challenge him to take me on anywhere I am ready to face him, it is a shame to him , what is even the meaning of Elbernard? these prophets go round to pick names for themselves that has no meaning in the Ghanaian society, is Elbernard a German? Where from this name?” . Bishop Ayensu made these comments during an interview on fish FM’s Adekyea mu nsɛm show with Akuah Pokuah on monday 2nd February, 2026 urged Christians to be vigilant in this end time.
