Former Deputy Defence Minister, Major Derek Oduro, has criticised the current Interior Minister over his recent statement concerning the alleged terrorist situation in the country.

Speaking on Adekyeɛ mu nsɛm, host Oheneba Berimah Nana Kay stated that Major Oduro believes the Interior Minister did not fully understand his responsibilities before making the public comment.

According to Major Derek Oduro, such sensitive national security matters should not be addressed hastily, stressing that the Interior Minister ought to have sought briefing and clearance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before releasing any statement on terrorism.

He explained that issues involving terrorism have international implications and must be handled through the right diplomatic and security channels to avoid unnecessary panic and misunderstanding.

Major Oduro therefore urged government officials to act with caution and professionalism when communicating on national security concerns.
