Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been retained as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono East Regional Chairman following a closely contested regional election held on Saturday, August 15.

Abronye secured 201 votes to defeat four other contestants and maintain his position as the leader of the NPP in the Bono East Region.

His victory gives him another mandate to lead the NPP’s regional structures and coordinate its activities across the region.

The result also places him in a position to continue overseeing the party’s organisational and political affairs at the regional level.

The regional chairman position is one of the most influential positions within the NPP’s regional structure, with the chairman playing a key role in coordinating constituency executives, mobilising party supporters and supervising the implementation of decisions taken by the party’s leadership.

Abronye’s re-election is particularly notable given the political attention surrounding him in recent months.

In the regional secretary contest, Kofi Ofosu Boateng emerged victorious after polling 187 votes. He will join the new regional executive team and will be responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of the party’s activities in the region.

The secretary position is also central to the functioning of the regional party structure, with the office responsible for administrative coordination, documentation and communication between the regional executives and other levels of the party.

Abdul Razak Oppong also secured victory in the regional organiser contest, polling 229 votes to emerge as the successful candidate.
